We are a rural, pre-kindergarten through fourth grade school. We serve a diverse population that is greater than 50% low income. They are a hard working and energetic group.
Our students are eager to learn and LOVE Library Day!
Not a morning passes without one or more students greeting me and asking if today is "library" day. Each class visits the library once weekly for 30 minutes.
The library program is designed to meet the needs of all students. My goal is to offer something for all learners. I combine tradition lessons with STEM activities.
I strive to offer books and resources for all learners at all levels Recently our students have discovered graphic novels. They cant get enough! The books are flying off my shelves!
We need more copies of the Dog Man books.
I currently own 5 copies of each title. I allow each child to check out the book for only one week to keep the circulation flowing. I have a waiting list for each book with over 30 names on each lilst.
I have a limited budget and do not have the funds to purchase more copies at this time. Please help satisfy these students' reading desire!
