My Students
We are a diverse school with many English Language Learners. Our students are passionate about learning and need access to materials that can allow them to meet their personal and educational goals.
The library is critical in allowing students to have access to materials that will allow them to succeed in their educational careers.
While our students are young, we want to encourage their natural curiosity by providing access to high-interest fiction and nonfiction materials that are accessible to them as they learn to read. We also want to provide the materials and programs that will encourage them to find information as they move from learning to read to reading to learn in upper elementary school.
My Project
Many of my students only have a basic understanding of coding. The Sphero and Dot robots will allow students to deepen their understanding of coding through hands on work with the robots.
Coding is a critical skill for our students.
Sphero and Dot robots are an exciting way for students to learn to collaborate with one another, solve problems, and to code. In the library, I see all students once a week for a library lesson. We have a coding unit that we do each year and the Spheros will be an exciting edition to this unit. Our students will deepen their understanding of the coding process by completing challenges with the Sphero and Dot robots. The library is a fun and exciting environment and using robots in the library will be wonderful learning experience for students.
