Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic learners that are engaging in the challenging tasks of distance learning by joining Zoom meetings and participating in lessons that have many interruptions from their home.
These challenges don't discourage them from showing up and being present even in this new way of learning.
Their growth mindset allows them to change and explore all the new aspects of their learning with many questions that come up as we continue our new way of learning.
My Project
In this time of uncertainty one major concern I have for my students is their learning. I want them to have some snacks so that they may focus on learning and not struggle with the pain of feeling hungry.
My school provides free breakfasts and lunches for students and it also participates in a food bank system.
The grab and go lunch services that our district is currently providing continues to help many of our students who can go a get them, but the food bank has been discontinued. I want my students to have a few snacks handy so that they engage in a positive distance learning experience.
