Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 33 students are emergent bilingual learners who are eager to learn in school. Coming from a low-socioeconomic status many struggle with learning when their basic needs have not been met. I want to be able to support my student's learning by providing them with all of the essential tools necessary for them to strive in the classroom.

My Project

My students have a long day and their lunch break is not until 1:20pm. During testing days, my students will benefit from a healthy snack to help them focus on doing their best on their test and not have to worry about when is lunch time. Many studies show that a child learns best when their basic needs such as food and water are met. With these snacks and reusable water bottle (to fill with water), my students will have their basic needs met when hungry. Some students depend on their school lunch as their only meal for the day. Please help our class by providing these snacks. Thank you very much!
