My Students

We are a great school with 500 plus elementary students, all of whom come through my classroom twice a week. They love to learn and love to play and make music. The school itself is a wonderful place that allows students to learn in a safe and kind environment. I am very proud of our school for being innovative, and our principal supports teachers thinking outside the box. Teachers are always looking to find ways to create excitement and curiosity in their students, and I am no different in that regard.

My Project

Part of the kindergarten and 1st-grade music curriculum is being able to learn rhythms through word syllabus. Fruits and vegetables provide a large number of multisyllabic words and are a great way to start into rhythms and chants in the process.

These are instrument shakers that look like real fruits and vegetables!

This is a classroom set of 36 and would be a wonderful addition to our room. This would also be a great chance to provide extra discussion about food groups and eating healthy. These would be a great benefit to our k-2 classes!
