My Students
My school is Title I school. Most of my students come from lower socioeconomic homes. My students also have language delays.
My students are very bright and sweet and love to learn.
Their learning comes difficult to them due to their speech delays, but they fight on.
I love to find new ways to teach them skills they are lacking. We use all 5 senses to learn different skills. I love seeing their faces light up when they get new concepts.
Teaching kids with disabilities takes a lot of passion and love. Watching my student's eyes light up with understanding of concepts is the most rewarding feeling.
My Project
I love Froggy books! These wonderful books are repetitive and very easy to understand for my little darlings with language delays. Froggy books can be used to teach students story sequencing as well as every day vocabulary. They are very well written with very simple language. My students have read a couple of these books and fell in love with the characters. Even kids on an Autistic Spectrum light up when Froggy's mother calls him, "FROGGYYYY!". I would love to give my students deeper exposure to these books. We will make froggy puppets and get him dressed and undressed while reading "Froggy Gets Dressed" book. We will set the table for froggy to go to a restaurant.
