This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is currently closed down through the rest of the year; however, the learning has not stopped. We do not have any requirements to be teaching online because of our school's socioeconomic status and lack of technology. We have been implementing packets and sharing what we can to continue distance learning as much as possible.
My Project
I am asking for a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers to purchase a few different items I can share with my students for distance learning.
Teachers have had to find new ways to reach their students during this new normal and this project will help me do so.
Part of what I will purchase is focused on word work, which is a huge aspect of phonics and reading. Students will be able to practice different phonics sounds, especially those we didn't get the change to learn yet. I am also asking for this gift card to purchase a few reading and fluency resources for students to practice reading at home.
Another item I'd like to purchase with the gift card is practice for math. The pack I'd like includes a review of skills already learned and skills students need for math fluency to prepare for second grade.
Thanks for thinking about our classroom and project!
