This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A day in my classroom can be described in one word: chaos. My students are always racing to capture our school's most interesting leads.

My students are individuals; they harness their own strengths and interests.

Each of them enjoy writing in specific categories that are unique to them. As an online news site, the opportunities to express themselves and keep their student body involved are endless.

My Project

My students run an online news site which publishes daily. That being said, timing can be a sensitive factor to add into the writing process. With a new laptop, writers will be able to access the school's internet network and write their articles on-site, which will assist in making the online newspaper better for our 3400 students.

In a large public school, it can be difficult to find funds for the exceeding amount of materials an online publication requires.

Our students also live in a low-income area where supplying each child with their own laptop can seem nearly impossible. This additional laptop, although a small addition, will allow for students to work harder and improve our news site.
