From Wax to Wonder: Help Us Cast Metal Creations!

Help me give my students a burnout kiln that heats up in as little as 8-10 minutes! This will allow my students to cast metal jewelry and sculptures just like professional artists and jewelers!

My Project

I am looking forward to allowing my students with a burnout kiln in order to learn real-world techniques used in lost-wax casting, mold-making, and metalwork, giving them a deeper understanding of fine art and craftsmanship.

With a burnout kiln, students can bring their own designs to life through casting, rather than relying on pre-made materials, fostering original thinking, problem-solving, and creative confidence.

My goal for this project is to not only introduce students to real career paths in jewelry design, entrepreneurial ventures, or trades professions. The process of casting requires multiple steps and careful planning, teaching students patience and attention to detail. They will create durable keepsakes that they can take pride in such as jewelry pieces, small metal sculptures, or functional design work like custom coins or medallions.

Many of my students face economic or personal challenges, but they show up ready to learn and create. A burnout kiln would be a symbol of an investment in their potential - showing them their all of their hard work and talents truly matter. My students thrive outside traditional textbooks and lectures - they learn best by doing. This burnout kiln allows them to engage in real-world, hands on learning that builds problem-solving skills, patience, and creativity.
