This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These are unprecedented times. We find ourselves in situations that we never thought we would be in. When I said goodbye to my kindergarten students in March, I thought it was good bye for a few weeks. It breaks my heart that it was goodbye to our time together in the classroom for the remainder of the school year. Although I am not physically with my students, the year is not over yet and there is still so much to learn!

My students and I have embarked on this home learning journey!

We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online platforms and learning new things. My students and I participate every day in Zoom meetings to go over new material, and to check in with each other. In addition, I am recording lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I am blown away by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things.

My Project

Even though I never imagined myself remotely teaching from home, and that my students would be learning new material through Zoom calls and recorded home videos, that is exactly what we are doing.

My incredible students have been working extremely hard completing assignments and engaging in zoom meetings.

However, my learners need basic materials like markers, paper, glue, crayons, notebooks, scissors, and tape to name a few. These materials would make it possible for all of my students to participate and engage in home learning activities.

Please help provide these essential materials to make this new learning experience possible for all.
