Over the past seven years, the Wrestling Coaches at MNSHS have introduced the sport of wrestling to counteract the plagues of gang culture, violence, and drugs in our community, and have built a championship program.
Our athletes work year-round to achieve their goals both on and off the wrestling mat. When they are not working hard to improve their grades or their wrestling skills, you can find our team working hard to fundraise, or coaching our brand new middle school wrestlers. Our team has created a culture of hard work and excellence that deserves unlimited potential.
Our Varsity Wrestling Team is a culture of students who dare to go farther and work harder than they ever have before. Over the past seven years, we have seen our program elevate from ground-level to three-time District Champions, qualifying 80 wrestlers for the Regional Tournament, and 20 wrestlers all the way to the State Championship Tournament.
MNSHS Wrestling has elite caliber athletes along with a matching work ethic that pair to make up the foundation of a perennial powerhouse.
My Project
Our goal is to obtain durable and much deserved, high-quality headgears, kneepads, workout bags, and athletic padding items for our Varsity team. This will allow us to expand through two main avenues. 1. We will be able to guarantee the safety of each of our wrestlers through protection from head injuries and knee burns to effectively participate in the sport at the highest level. 2. We will be able to form a JV team by passing down new equipment.
We are seeking headgear and kneepads to properly equip and secure safety for a full roster of Varsity and JV wrestlers at MNSHS.
Having enough equipment to accommodate a full roster would alleviate countless issues our players and their families must face. It goes without saying how much weight can be taken from each family in our cohort to know they are not alone in the struggle of making our season financially possible.
These additions to our program would allow us to continue to grow our program and our family in the right direction. The more kids we can accommodate, the more kids we keep focused on their priorities and success as student-athletes.
We have seen our program blossom over these past seven seasons and hope you can help us in making many more. This team, this culture, this family, is anxiously waiting to take them to the next level, and we'd be honored if you came along for the ride.
