From Stress to Success: Creating A Calm Corner for Kids

Help me give my students a cozy couch and calming lights to create a warm, inviting space where they can relax, feel safe, and open up. This calm corner will provide comfort to reset and return to learning.

My Project

As an elementary school counselor, I see the need for how much our students need and desire a calm corner. Students are in need of a space where they can breathe and feel supported. This year, I'm hoping to create a "Cozy Cougar Calm Corner", right in our school.

This won't be your average corner; it will be the ultimate cozy corner where all students can sit back, relax on a couch that is surrounded by LED floor lamps.

This space will be where students can connect with me as their counselor, ask questions, release stress, or just take time to regroup so they can return to their classroom in a much calmer state of mind.

Our school is underserved and underfunded. This atmosphere will foster trust and plant the seed in students' minds that they are important and matter in school. With the generosity of donors, this will transform a stale space into a much-needed cozy, calm corner to allow students to connect and feel cared for while in school.

Together, we can make this Cozy Calm Corner a reality for our Cougars.
