From Stress to Success: A Relaxation Room for Student Wellness

Help me give my students items to help refresh the school counseling office space and provide the counselors and students with a space to meet, relax, and share time together in confidence.

My Project

At Dunbar High School, we believe that student well-being is the foundation for academic and personal success. As the School Counseling Lead, I see firsthand the emotional weight many of our students carry each day. From academic stress to challenges at home, our young people deserve a space where they can pause, breathe, and reset.

That’s why we’re transforming a section of our counseling suite into a dedicated Relaxation and Wellness Space — a calming corner where students can decompress, self-regulate, and feel supported.

To bring this vision to life, we need your help.

We're seeking comfortable furniture like soft chairs and bean bags, soothing lighting, and engaging fidget toys to create a welcoming, sensory-friendly environment. These additions will make a world of difference for students who need a break from the hustle of the school day — whether they're managing anxiety, navigating personal challenges, or just need a few minutes of peace.

Your donation will help us create a space that feels safe, supportive, and student-centered — a place where students can return to class feeling calm, grounded, and ready to learn.
