From Sniffles to Spills: Providing Essential Hygiene Supplies

My Project

Our school is a unique elementary and middle school located in the vibrant Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. We serve one of the most diverse areas in the city, with English Learners who speak over 35 different languages, many of whom are refugees newly arrived in our city. Additionally, half of our student population receives special education services. Our remarkable students are not the only special aspect of our school—our campus sprawls over two city blocks, with our middle school situated just a few streets away from our main elementary building.

Our budgets have decreased, but our need for various materials for health and safety continues to increase.

In our diverse learning community, having Kleenex readily available encourages students to practice good hygiene by covering their noses when sneezing or blowing their noses, thus minimizing the spread of illnesses. Paper towels are equally crucial for swiftly cleaning up spills, wiping tables and surfaces, and maintaining a clean and safe learning environment. Accidents are inevitable in an elementary school, whether it's a spilled cup of water, a paint mishap, or a minor injury. Having a ready supply of paper towels and Kleenex ensures that teachers can promptly address these situations, providing comfort and support to students as needed. Kleenex and paper towels are essential supplies that contribute to the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall well-being of both students and staff at our school.
