Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are part of a community that receives free and reduced lunch. Daily, my students come to class asking for writing utensils. I also have students who are visual and kinesthetic learners, who would benefit from these materials by means of aiding in their learning a language orally. I aim to provide them with markers, pens, and other writing materials to have them write and draw on the board, papers and posters that students will make for their class anchor charts or other activities.
Post it notes can be used for quick notations, annotations or for a way of visually voting on answers or making a visual graph of answer choices.
The snacks serve as prizes, motivation for games or other learning activities, as well as providing a snack when students do not have meals for whatever reason. The booklights will serve as motivational prizes as well, as I am heavily encouraging reading both during class and outside of class time this year in my class. The storage will be used to store these materials until their use, as we have currently have inadequate storage in the classroom currently. The clipboards or document holders are to keep necessary documentation or to safekeep notes such as the class rosters, student medical information, daily plans or sensitive student information that is needed to be handy, but out of ready eyesight of the casual passer-by.
