From Quills to iPads: Bringing History to Life

My Project

My students are curious, creative, and eager to connect the past to their own lives. In our U.S. History class, we study the struggles, triumphs, and everyday experiences that shaped our nation. But to make history come alive, my students need tools that let them research deeply, collaborate effectively, and share their learning in engaging ways.

That’s why I’m requesting three iPads for our classroom.

These devices will allow students to:

-Create interactive projects such as digital timelines, videos, and presentations that showcase their understanding of key historical events.

-Access supportive resources like educational apps, primary source archives, and accessibility features that meet a wide range of learning needs.

-Generate excitement and interest by using technology that helps them tell the story of history in their own voice, whether through multimedia, art, or storytelling apps.

With iPads in our classroom, students won’t just memorize dates and names — they will step into the role of historians, researchers, and storytellers. This project will provide opportunities for all learners to engage meaningfully with history and share their work with pride.
