My Project
My creative writing students are eager to explore the art of storytelling, and what better way to inspire them than with one of the greatest adventure tales ever written? A class set of The Hobbit will give my students access to rich world-building, unforgettable characters, and timeless themes that spark imagination and creativity. In our classroom, we explore how writers craft settings, build tension, and develop heroes—and Tolkien provides a masterclass in all of these.
With this book in their hands, my students will analyze narrative structure and then apply what they learn to their own original writing.
Many of my students don’t have access to classic literature outside the classroom. With your help, they’ll not only read a fantasy masterpiece—they’ll also use it as a springboard for their own creative journeys. Your support will put powerful storytelling tools into the hands of future writers.
