From Overwhelmed to In Control: SEL Tools for Success

Help me give my students tools like fidgets, sensory cushions, and visual supports to help them stay calm, focused, and ready to learn.

My Project

What I love most about my students is how hard they try, even when their emotions feel too big to handle. They are kind, curious, and full of potential—but many of them need support navigating big feelings like frustration, anxiety, or sadness. They want to do well, and with the right tools, they can thrive.

These resources—including books about big emotions, sensory tools, and calming supports—will help my students understand their feelings, stay regulated, and feel safe and ready to learn each day.

The books in this project will help my students see that all feelings are okay and teach them how to understand and talk about their emotions. Weighted pillows and sensory balls will help them feel calm and safe. Fidget bands support quiet movement during learning, and the hanging chair offers a cozy spot for taking a break. The resistance bag will give students a safe, school-appropriate way to release strong energy. These tools will help them build emotional awareness, regulate their bodies, and get back to learning when things feel overwhelming.
