My Students
Multiple opportunities for kinesthetic movement activities is how my students learn best!
I am a self-contained Intensive Learning Center (ILC) teacher in a high poverty elementary school.
I have 7 special needs students in grades 1-3, who are functioning on a pre-k through 1st grade level. My students have disabilities including ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Aspergers, and Educable Mentally Handicapped. My students require hands-on approaches to learning to keep them engaged and involved in their learning.
My Project
My students have very weak gross and fine motor skills. Everyday we participate in Boost Up activities which is a structured fitness program to enhance their motor and coordination skills. The items I am seeking such as the activity kit will provide my students with balance and coordination activities to stimulate their motor skills. Other materials such as the sand and water table will help to improve my students' fine motor skills. The no miss mitts and easy grip ball will keep them active while improving their hand-eye coordination. These activities will keep my students moving, keep their energy level up, and improve their overall health and fitness level!
I want to keep my students moving and improve their level of overall fitness!
Movement from their fingers to their toes will help to improve gross motor, fine motor and coordination skills while having fun learning!
