This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are eager to understand how gases behave, but abstract formulas like PV = k can feel disconnected from reality. They need to develop strong measurement skills while discovering the mathematical relationships that govern our world.

The 120 pack of wooden rulers will provide every student with their own measuring tool for learning fundamental measurement techniques, recording initial observations and rough measurements, working in pairs or groups without sharing equipment and taking home for practice and homework assignments.

The centimeter cubes are perfect manipulatives that will help students visualize volume and spatial relationships, understand cubic units before measuring gas volumes, build 3D models to grasp the concept of volume changes and practice volume calculations with tangible objects

The vernier calipers are precision instruments essential for our Boyle's Law experiments. Students will use them to measure syringe plunger diameters with accuracy to 0.1mm,

calculate exact cross-sectional areas for pressure calculations, develop skills with professional scientific instruments, collect precise data that reveals the inverse relationship between pressure and volume.

Together, these tools will transform abstract gas laws into measurable phenomena. When students measure, calculate, and plot their data to see that perfect inverse relationship emerge, they'll understand that gas laws aren't just equations; they're predictable patterns in nature that we can measure and verify!
