There’s nothing quite like watching life begin right before your eyes. With an incubator and a chicken life cycle model, my students will explore the stages of development from fertilized egg to fully hatched chick. This project will support our hatchery unit, allowing students to observe, track, and understand the process of embryology in a hands-on, engaging way.
The life cycle model will give students a clear visual representation of what’s happening inside the egg each day, reinforcing key science and agricultural concepts.
Paired with a reliable incubator, this project will give my students the chance to care for real eggs while learning the responsibility that comes with animal husbandry. It’s an experience that builds empathy, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of biology.
My students are eager to learn through doing—and this project will allow them to witness one of nature’s most amazing transformations while gaining knowledge they’ll carry into future studies and careers.
