My Students
The students I teach are very unique. They come to school daily with huge smiles on their little faces ready to discuss all the events that have happened in their worlds the night before or over the weekend. I greet them each morning with a smile and my undivided attention to listen to their many stories. Yes, most of these stories are hilarious about family members doing funny things. This tugs on my heart because communication for my student can be challenging.
My student are like sponges.
They soak up the knowledge and when the get an answer correct, they are very proud! This is why I love teaching.
My Project
The items requested will assist my students remaining attentive to the instruction and increase their level and ability to participate. The lap desks for their chromebook and cushions are for sitting on the floor. These items will allow my students to be engaged in the virtual instruction with moments for a little wiggling if needed. This is referred to as differentiated seating which give students the opportunity to have preferred or unconventional seating.
My students require hands on materials to participate in the lessons and to show understanding.
I will be using laminating sheets to make items I create durable for students to use multiple times. The Velcro will be used so the items will not slip off which causes students to become frustrated!
The triangle pencils are for the students that need instructions on how to hold a pencil to write and to keep the pencil on the lap desk during instruction.
All of these items will help my students with transitioning to a virtual learning situation.
