The students in my class blindly took the chance on this class as it it brand new. The energy the bring in and desire to learn has made this transition to teaching the class that much better. This class is designed to introduce student into the basic engineering process and find ways to encourage girls and minority students into the STEAM classes.
The excitement in class is amazing and I want to build on that to give them a great experience!
My Project
Students will design their product and 3D print it to deliver to the organizations that work with children with disabilities. Through the collaboration with the organizations, we will create a product that can be used as a therapeutic toy. The Sindoh 3DWOX filament refill will allow for more printing and the material for printing larger projects. We will also have the colors that students can add to their design.
We are not only building the ability of creative thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration; but more importantly we are helping build empathy!
Having students see they can make an imapct is one of the greatest things I can do as a teacher.
