No one could have predicted a few months ago that our lives would be so changed and that school as we knew it would be so disrupted. On March 13, 2020, my life as a teacher thoroughly changed. My students would not be returning for what I know now is the remainder of the school year. However, with the onset of the social distancing and the shut down order, my students was home with a loss. None were more effected were my former graduating seniors who had to miss their prom and all of their high school senior year activities. Over the years after elementary school, I was able to continue a wonderful ongoing relationship with one of my former students by writing recommendations to help them get into a college of their choice. While planning to enter into a new journey it came to my attention that my student did not have the adequate equipment to be successful as a new college freshman. I am requesting funding for a new laptop for my graduating senior to take with her to college to continue with virtual/distance learning.
My Project
During this pandemic many students especially the graduating seniors are highly affected in this crisis and not being able to experience a well deserved senior farewell. I am so excited that this project will placed a laptop in the hands of one of my former students, now a graduating senior who is so deserving and ready to move on to the next phase in her life. My former student will definitely be well prepared and college ready if funded through this project. Thank you in advance with help in funding this project.
