it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We're revolutionizing the way students experience gaming at our school, and you can be a part of it! We're one of the only schools in New York City with a New York State Approved Game Design and Development pathway, and our vision for the brand-new esports program is the perfect complement.
This program is more than just epic battles and bragging rights.
It's about unlocking potential and providing a springboard for careers in the exploding world of esports. Our goal for the program is to bridge the gap between gaming and career aspirations. Students will explore the vast landscape of esports careers, from game design and development (leveraging our unique pathway!) to broadcasting and event management. Students will also connect with a vibrant community of like-minded peers across the NYCDOE, building lifelong friendships and laying the groundwork for a powerful ESports League.
With your generous help, we will lay the groundwork to start an in-house esports league that will eventually expand into an interscholastic esports competition. The organizers and show-runners for these competitions will be students as they learn and apply critical skills that are used in the industry to host an esports tournament. We will use the equipment from this campaign to host in-house Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournaments that will later expand into other games, such as Rocket League, Splatoon, Overwatch, and Fortnite.
