Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every 5th grader deserves the tools to succeed, but for my incredible group of Title 1 students, staying organized can be an even bigger challenge. My students are bursting with potential, creativity, and resilience, but many lack access to essential organizational tools that could transform their educational experience.
Through the Chaos to Clarity initiative, I am seeking support to provide my students with: graphing and fraction tools, to help organize math; sentence strips to help with their handwriting; general organizational tools, such as note cards and the sticky filing tabs to help them organize their general notes.
Lastly, my students love FriXion Pens and it is a huge motivator but they cannot afford them and they are a huge help in ELA and math—tools that will make a real difference in their learning. Lastly, the fidget bands help settle the class but they only last a few years and need to be replaced so these are replacements for the class. By giving them these materials we can help my students focus more on learning and less on the frustration of feeling overwhelmed.
My goals for this project are simple: to enhance my students’ ability to stay on task, improve their academic performance, and build lifelong skills in time management, note taking and personal responsibility. What makes my students special is their determination to overcome challenges, their creativity when given the right resources, and their eagerness to grow. They deserve the best shot at success, and with your support, we can turn cluttered desks, messy notes and jumbled thoughts into clear pathways for achievement.
