Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are 12th graders who are general education students with Individual Education Plans (IEP). The students I work with have learning disabilities such as Autism, ADD/ADHD, emotional disabilities, and specific learning disabilities. They come from diverse social and economic backgrounds in the west-side of Long Beach, CA.
All of my students are striving to graduate high school with a diploma and attend college in a diverse spectrum of fields.
Many of my students will be first-generation college students who are working non-stop to reach their dreams. From creating digital art projects, outstanding professional resumes, and student work portfolios, having access to a color printer and ink can open up a world of opportunities for my students to truly elevate and highlight their work and creativity. The vast majority of my students do not have a printer at home and rely on our school, teachers, and local libraries to print their work. Most of that time, all of their effort is watered down by only having access to black ink. Any support for color cartridges you can give towards helping our students’ work shine is extremely appreciated!
