From Backpack to Briefcase: Resume Project

Help me give my students a high capacity printer, resume paper, and feedback stamps to help them develop their resume skills earlier on in Middle School to better prepare them for high school and their professional futures!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The High Capacity Inkjet Printer will allow me to print out student resume examples on paper we already have at the school, and the stamps will be used for providing feedback on students' initial work. Once students have perfected their resumes, they will be provided copies on official resume paper which they can take home to display proudly, or even utilize to obtain their first part-time jobs. What makes this project special is I have already contributed to four fourteen-year-old students obtaining employment by providing them this resource already but I would be able to reach my students having the resource in my classroom and would be able to impact more students because of this donation. I had been spending my money on resume paper, laminating sheets, and other supplies to support them in this endeavor. What makes my students special is so many things but the fact that they are at the beginning ages to start becoming employed which is the perfect time to prepare them for the real world as they can apply the skills they have recently learned to their real lives and in real time!
