My Students

My first graders are a diverse group of happy, helpful, enthusiastic, learners. They're amazing little humans that look past physical, social, and economical differences between themselves and their peers.

These first graders deserve a classroom that serves as a home; a class full of love and materials to support and develop their social, emotional, and academic growth.

As a class, these students word hard each day to learn school content, acceptance, and what it means to be part of a community. They enjoy reading, writing, math, being creative, and working with other members of their school community. More than anything, these little learners deserve every resource available to them for their success.

My Project

Of the over 50 million students in the United States, the 21 students that call my classroom home deserve just that, a home. A home is described as having an emotional connection and that's exactly what a classroom is for a first grader. A structure that protects them, teachers them, and loves them. The materials included in the project ranges from markers for daily classroom projects to storage to support classroom organization. Materials also include journals to promote writing and books to develop reading. Each item is intended to develop and support the learning that takes place within a classroom; their home.

By donating to this project you're showing first graders that they're home and they matter.

Materials in this project serve to better support learners in learning. The magnets will hang someone's most prized piece of writing. The pencils will create their most memorable opinion writing piece, and the binding machine will bind their favorite collection of poems. The bounce seats will serve as a seat for a busy body and the table, technology to experience research for the very first time. As a group of diverse little humans the range of materials in this project will meet the different needs of each child that calls my class home.
