My students need one live toad, three live frogs, four aquarium tanks, food (crickets), food for the crickets, and five copies of four different Frog and Toad books.
WE LOVE FROGS AND TOADS!
My first grade students love frogs and toads. The classroom is decorated with many frogs. Each child has a chance to be "The Frog of the Week!" They take home a stuffed animal frog and a journal to write about what they did with their frog friend over the weekend. Now it is time to get the real thing!
My class has been hooked on the frogs and toads since the first day of school. It would be wonderful to have live frogs and toads in the classroom and books to add to the reading and science lesson.
I would like to tie many reading and science activities with live frogs and toads. I am asking for several items: live frogs and a toad, crickets for food, food for the crickets, four aquariums and Frog and Toad books.
You will make it possible for my class to dive into science and language arts in a fun, concrete way. When we talk about comparing frogs and toads the students could actually see them! They will be excited to learn and come to my first grade classroom.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
