My Project

Grade Level: Kindergarten

Project Description:

In our classroom, we’re learning how to be good listeners, kind friends, and strong communicators. But for 5- and 6-year-olds, this kind of learning often happens best through movement and play.

That’s why I’m creating a “Friendship Games” zone—a space where students can engage in active games that promote teamwork, communication, and joy. With your help, we can bring in the tools we need to make this dream a reality.

These items will allow us to create daily activities that not only build coordination and gross motor skills but also help children take turns, use words to solve problems, and support one another in achieving shared goals.

What We Need:

• 1 extra-large parachute

• Hula hoops and beanbags for partner and small group challenges

• Colorful cones and movement mats to structure mindful movement activities

• Red tubballs for inclusive physical games

• Soccer balls to use to teach the basics of soccer and focus on teamwork and good sportsmanship

• Good Choices/Poor Choices Chart to help all students learn and practice behavior and friendship expectations

Why It Matters:

By combining physical activity with communication practice, children build stronger brains and hearts. Movement-based activities reduce stress and help young learners focus. But most importantly, they teach children how to play well together—how to encourage, include, and connect.

Your donation will give my students the chance to grow socially and emotionally while moving their bodies, laughing with friends, and building a positive classroom community.
