Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom I talk about how one person, such as MLK Jr. can make a difference in the life of others. "One person can make a difference" could it be you? Just like Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi... made a difference - you too can make a difference to the students in my classroom.

The students in my class are in need of extra support in all academic areas, they are repeating the grade.

They are eager to learn. They have many hopes and dreams. Each day I go into class and work with my students, teaching and guiding them in the right direction to reach success.

My Project

I am asking for materials such as books w/ cd for students to listen to the story. They will follow along as the story is being told, matching spoken and printed word in the story. The goal being that one day they will be able to recognize and read the story independently. I am also requesting manipulative's to build words. For student use during word work to teach and practice the skills for each set, building 3 and 4 letter words. This in turn will help them learn to decoded new unfamiliar words when reading. They will use these on a daily basis during literacy centers.

I know that each day when I work with my students that I am making a positive difference in their lives.

If you choose to donate to my project I can assure you that my students will use these materials daily to build their skills in literacy. The goal being...strong, confident, independent readers who love to read.
