This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This school year, I will have 25 first graders that I am sure are ready to experience a full day of making friends and learning. These students have not been to school in over a year. I want to make it a fun and seamless year. Our school is a Title 1I school in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood in Chicago. My students are bilingual learners and are excited to know how to speak and read in two languages.
We have a great school community, supportive admin, and wonderful families.

My Project
First graders are busy bees learning so many new skills. They are learning their letters, number, basic sight words, and how to get along in the world. Friday's will be our assessment as well as our "Gameday." I want the kids to have lots of games and puzzles in the classroom. We will be playing lots of Bingo and Loteria (Mexican Bingo). Many of my students don't get to see their peers outside of school. They need to learn to take turns and be patient. Gameday will help with these Real World skills,
