Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is about making silk flower headbands as inspired by Frida Kahlo. The goal of the project is not just creating a beautiful headband, but also is for students to learn to make floral assortment as well as understanding the intent and the content of how Frida Khalo used flowers to express her identity in celebrating her Hispanic heritage as well as fertility for she was infertile due to her accident as a teenager.
When it comes to making wearable jewelry, the makers in the Jewelry classes are all about wanting to learn new ways to make Jewelry with quality in mind.
This project will help students to create an assortment of silk floral arrangement, but also to be expressive in terms of the use of flower types as well as in color choices.
