This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Have you ever wondered why it is harder to ride up some hills on your bicycle versus others? When my students are studying inclined planes, the use of the inclined models really brings the discussion and theories to life.
Our school is the largest of only two high schools in our county, servicing nearly two-thirds of all students who attend high school in the county.
It is composed of nearly 2000 students and is classified as a minority majority school. It has a high population of students who come from low income families. As the high school that services the local military base, it has a large number of transient students as well as many who have parents that are either deployed or single parent households.
My Project
With the purchase of the incline models, my students can observe how the frictional force between two objects varies by angle and can see how the force required to move the load will change according to how high or low the angle is. They will then relate this to the force normal and the force of gravity to explain their findings.
Please help my students get the inclined plane models that they need to study the frictional forces of science.
It will truly bring to life the hands-on topics that we discuss rather than just drawings on a paper and different scenarios on the board.
