This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a water cooler and storage carts for my kindergarten classroom. Since the pandemic, water fountains have been removed from our classrooms and water bottle filling stations have been installed. We have sinks in our classroom but the water is not filtered and runs through very old pipes. The nearest fill station is down the hall and around the corner making it difficult for me to allow students to fill up their water while keeping everyone safe with little disruption to learning.

Having a water cooler in our classroom would eliminate disruptions to our learning and provide easy access to clean water.

I am requesting the storage cart for an organized space for them to store their water bottles. Both of these items will eliminate the obstacle to clean and fresh water for my young learners. My students come from low-income homes and helping alleviate the worry of access to water during the school day helps relieve stress for parents needing to purchase water bottles.
