Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first-grade students are coming to school knowing this is their happy place. My school is a Title 1 school with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch each day.
My students are growing up in large low-income families and are unable to afford basic school supplies for school or even at home.
They are very grateful for supplies I supply in the classroom. When I can get the supplies they need for the classroom and at home, it really brightens their day.
My Project
My students are in need of starting the new school year with the basics of school supplies. I need to replace my whiteboards in my classroom as they are older and in need of replacement. I would like to start the school year giving each of my students a pencil box with 3 pencils, an eraser, a whiteboard marker, a box of crayons, and a glue stick.
These supplies my parents are not able to afford as we are a Title 1 school with 100% free breakfast and lunch for all students.
My students will appreciate all supplies they get.
