Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items requested will greatly support our students who are struggling to progress in a traditional middle school environment. They live in the inner city and have been limited in many ways due to circumstances beyond their control. We are trying to provide a well-supplied classroom to meet the needs of the many different project-based learning activities they will be involved in.

The goal of the school is to give each student a new start to their middle school experience.

Most of these students are not progressing in their middle schools and will find themselves amongst peers that they do not know. It is our hope to develop in them a sense of belonging and success that we know they are capable of. These students may need a little extra attention and care in order for them to realize their true potential.

Our students are special because they are in a period of their lives when they have high physical and emotional energy that needs to be nurtured. With your help, we will be able to provide them with learning opportunities that guide them to use this energy in a positive way. The support you can provide will enable us to foster their curiosity in education and open up paths of thinking that they may not be exposed to otherwise.
