My students are coming from low income families. They are living in places where the availability of fresh and nutritious sources of food is very limited. Aside from that, their situation is being worsened by financial incapability. Most of them have not even seen a blender or juicer machine because their parents can't afford to buy one. Their financial incapabilty have forced them to be exposed and got used to buying cheap and unhealthy junk foods in Deli stores.
This project will allow my students to have the actual experience of seeing, touching, and using an actual blender/juicer to produce healthy and nutritious juices.
It will further give them the chance of tasting the actual product, get used to its taste, and finally push them to always consider preparing their own healthy snacks or meals.
