My students come from some of the toughest backgrounds and conditions, but do not let this deter them from accomplishing their goals. Just this time last year, many of my students were displaced from their homes due to Hurricane Harvey. Even though this devastating storm had us in temporary home/schools, my students still stayed resilient and had a successful school year. We had some of the biggest gains in testing this year even through the adversity we faced. I’m so proud of them!
My Project
This project will aid me in being able to tier my instruction as a newly assigned Reading Interventionist for 4th Grade. This will help students who are below, on and above grade level. It is important for me to make sure that ALL students have the opportunity to learn and close the gaps caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. This will be the project that will help me be able to reach all of my students regardless of their tier (1-3). Having immediate access to a printer will create more time for me to create stations and other reading intervention activities to bring joy to my students and have a sense of belonging after a year of being virtual. This project will also create a social environment that many of my students was not able to experience their 3rd Grade year.
