This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each year I have a new group of excited new kindergarteners starting their first day of school. It is so fantastic to have fresh, new materials for them when they walk into the classroom. In order to practice letters, writing, coloring in the lines and gaining fine motor skills the children will need pencils, crayons , markers and erasers.

The students will use the crayons during the first week of school when we do our "color week", where each day is a different color.

They will also enjoy using the markers for special art projects throughout the year. And of course, they will use the pencils for all 180 days of the school year to practice writing and gain fine muscle control.

These materials will help me give my students a fresh start for a new year.
