Every year the new students in the class deserve a fresh start with new items put together just for them. These items help me provide a warm and welcoming environment that is organized and functional so that they feel special and can start the new year with all brand new special items just for them. This makes them feel special and important and ready to start their new adventure in 4th grade. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long scholars.
Students will also receive special birthday items when it is their special day.
I will laminate centers for math and reading for students to be able to use and reuse without excessive use of paper. Not all students come to class with headphones so having a class set will allow for computer use to be equitable and without distraction of loud computer noises. Students will also be able to organize their ELA materials into their mesh zipper pouch. Protractors will be used during our lessons on angles I like to have things prepared for every student before they enter on the first day of school so they know that I have been thinking about them.
