Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This summer, I’ll be leading a hands-on Art/STEM/Entrepreneurship experience for five advanced art students at KIPP NCP, a Title I public school serving marginalized youth in East Side San José. Together, we’ll design and produce custom “Fresh Crew – Class of 2029” t-shirts to welcome our incoming freshman class.

These shirts will not be sold—they will be given as a gift to the new students as part of a warm and creative welcome to our school community.

There is no resale or fundraising component to this project.

For the students involved in production, this is a learning experience in entrepreneurship basics. They’ll explore topics like:

• How to develop a design based on a target audience

• Cost analysis of materials, quality, and quantity

• Workflow for fulfilling large-scale orders

• Branding and presentation

Students will work with high-quality ink and materials on our Roland BN2-20A printer to create vibrant, weatherproof designs. We’re requesting the Roland Eco-Sol MAX 2 CMYKW Ink Set, which is essential to complete this project with professional results.
