My Project

Our classroom rugs are one of the most important parts of our school day. My students gather on the carpet for morning meetings, circle time, reading lessons, social skills instruction, and calming breaks throughout the day. Because the rugs are used constantly, they have become heavily stained from food spills, drinks, accidents, and daily wear and tear.

Several of my students have toileting accidents during the school day, and despite my best efforts to clean the rugs by hand, the stains and odors remain.

The calming corner rug is also frequently used by students who need a quiet, comfortable place to regulate their emotions, rest, or reset before returning to learning activities. The children often sit and lay directly on these carpets, making cleanliness especially important.

A portable carpet cleaner and cleaning solution would make an enormous difference in maintaining a healthy and welcoming classroom environment. With this equipment, I would be able to quickly sanitize and deep clean our classroom rugs so students can continue learning, reading, and gathering together in a clean space they feel comfortable in every day.
