Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I Love Reading"... "Writing is My Favorite Time"... "YAY! We are Going to the STEM Lab!". These are some of things I hear my students say on a daily basis.
My students come from diverse backgrounds, speak many languages, and have many voices and stories to share.
We are a Title I school, which means many of our students come from low-income households. Regardless, each student comes to school every day with a smile and a joyful greeting. They love school, they love learning, and they look forward to connecting to the world around them through the classroom.
My Project
We are half way through the school year and my second graders are growing as readers. I have a range of readers in my class so I need books that meets the variety of readers.
These books will help my second graders fall in love with books!
This is my first year teaching second grade and I'm learning what kinds of books are interesting and engaging to second graders. My students chose these titles themselves. They requested we add these books to our classroom library. My hope is that these books will spark their imaginations and love for reading once more.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
