The books we received have made such a difference in our classroom, and it has been so much fun to watch the excitement build around reading. \r\n\r\nThese books fill an important gap for my third graders. They are chapter books that are accessible to students who are ready to move beyond early readers but may not yet feel confident tackling longer, more text-heavy books. They have manageable text, plenty of pictures, and age-appropriate stories that make students feel like they are reading \"real\" chapter books without being overwhelmed. Because we were able to purchase books at a variety of reading levels, there is something for everyone in my classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things has been seeing how naturally the books have become part of our daily routine. Students frequently ask, \"Can we read?\" During transitions or while waiting for classmates to finish an activity, I often look around and see students with one of these books open. We have even started keeping a waiting list for particularly popular books so students can read them as soon as someone finishes. Students ask if they can take the books to lunch and recess, and if they can borrow them to read at home. \r\n\r\nThese books have also been especially helpful for students who are learning English. The combination of accessible text and pictures gives them another way to build vocabulary, develop comprehension, and enjoy stories while continuing to grow as readers. At the same time, students across all reading levels have found books that interest them and make them want to keep reading.\r\n\r\nI have never had this level of excitement about books in my classroom before. Seeing students choose to read during moments when they could be doing almost anything else has been incredibly rewarding. More than anything, I love that these books have helped so many students see themselves as readers and get excited about what they want to read next.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where reading is something they look forward to.
