Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 23 amazing and academically gifted elementary scholars. They enter my classroom with big smiles, are happy, and ready to learn. Many students that come to our school do not speak English. We also have exceptional students included in our class.
We are a Global Magnet Title I school serving 65% of low-income families who speak limited English.
We offer Mandarin Chinese and Spanish to our students. Our school also serves families whose parents work multiple jobs to help make ends meet.
My Project
Since COVID-19, my classroom is a science storage room that has been closed up for over a year. I want to use great fragrances as students enter the created classroom. Every space is used at our school, so we have changed a storage room into a classroom. The plug ins and Glade air fresheners will be used daily to keep the classroom smelling good and students can be engaged in their learning.
Fresh and clean environments are so important for students to stay focused and helps get their minds ready for learning as we start our day.
As students enter, I want them to be welcomed back in person with a good clean classroom.
