My Students
We are in the heart of Chinatown where over 85% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students are full of energy and strive to learn something new every day. They enjoy different activities from playing sports to chess to singing in our school's glee club.
Many of them live in single room (SRO) apartments or even share with extended family members.
Also, a good number of them come from families who do not speak English as a first language and are relied upon for translations. They have big shoes to fill, but they also need to get the education themselves first.
My students yearn to increase their academic levels and demonstrate their ability every chance they have. They want to expand their knowledge and prove that "Yes, I made that happen!"
My Project
My students are eager to come back to the classroom to learn; however, they are worried about the air quality that may affect them. With your generous donations, the air purifier with filter sheets as well as the no-touch forehead thermometer will encourage students to freely and actively concentrate on their studies.
My students will be ecstatic about being in the classroom once again not only to gain structure and instruction, but to be able to socialize with their classmates as well in an environment suitable for them.
My students will also be able to see the multiple anchor charts in real time, rather than through a screen where they can barely see.
