Help me give my students theatrical materials to learn French in ways that are fun for young learners. The rolling white board is to facilitate small group French reading instruction in non-traditional areas like our outdoor classroom!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are 1st and 2nd graders from diverse backgrounds More than half of our students are low income children. They are able to experience a unique Montessori and French education that is unavailable at other public schools in the city.
Our students are loving, curious kids, who are eager to learn and experience new things.
Our goal is to eventually be a fully bilingual French school. Since many of our students are starting with the language as 2nd graders, they have some catching up to do. We would be so grateful to receive these resources that would improve our French instruction.
My Project
Wed would love puppets and wooden food items to engage 1st and 2nd grade students in theatrical story telling in French.
Students will co-create plays and skits to practice their French language in our unique open enrollment public school that aspires to provide children from all backgrounds with French and Montessori instruction.
Our special school seeks to improve cognitive engagement and offer real world skills to students through empowering them with a foreign language from a young age. I am also requesting books for French language, literacy, and research to help my students practice their foreign language fluency and become critical thinkers.
