Help me give my students an mobile learning center to organize and transport the materials I use to teach French language arts to 120 students.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our students are 1st and 2nd graders from diverse backgrounds More than half of our students are low income children. They are able to experience a unique Montessori and French education that is unavailable at other public schools in the city.
Our students are loving, curious kids, who are eager to learn and experience new things.
Our goal is to eventually be a fully bilingual French school. Since many of our students are starting with the language as 2nd graders, they have some catching up to do. We would be so grateful to receive these resources that would improve our French instruction.
My students need their roving French teacher to be able to efficiently bring a wide variety of materials into their homeroom classrooms. Next year, I will be teaching French language arts and French language math to 120 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students across 4 multi-grade classrooms. Over the course of one day, I teach students in whole group, grade level, and leveled small group lessons. I use a wide range of materials to animate my lessons and keep both me and my students speaking only French, including puppets, toys, books, photographs, math materials, and real-life items.
The donations to this project will help me to give my students access to the awesome variety of materials I have collected to help them to take their first steps into understanding, speaking, reading, and writing French.
I would like the transitions between rooms to be as fast as possible so that can I give my students as much instruction as possible!
